This is the plan for drop down day Feb 2nd.

Year 7/8/9 – will all complete the following tasks based in tutor groups. Timings of the walk section will be ironed out in Jan.

All students to be given a pilgrims passport to be stamped on the competition of each session, all resources to be contained in this…

Session 1 – Presentation of the day, what is pilgrimage? Margaret Kempe – famous pilgrim intro – differentiated writing task for possible 1,000 euro prize from the Galician government. Cartoon strop, tales along the road to Santiago, creation of song, poem or letter home from the view of Margaret Kemp. – Session prepared and resourced by Kerry Mould.

Session 2 – The Pilgrim shell – Art work on the iconic shell that depicts each stage of the walk to Santiago decorate in own design. Charlotte Davis to prepare and resource this session.

Session 3 – Galician language and creation of school signage- a session on basic Galician and the creation of signage in Spanish, French, Polish, German to be displayed around school to tie in with the International school award. Best designs to be chosen. Phill Robertson to prepare this session.

Session  4 – Our local history through the eyes of a pilgrim – Evan Mulligan will prepare this session on our local area and tying it into our links with the camino.

Session 5 – A collective 100KM per year group- walk around the school 3G pitch – in half year groups, description given in passport as to why they have to do 100k!

Sixth Form – ART/MUSIC/DRAMA – Becci Bell /Kim Wearmouth and Dominic Quigley – opt in session either legacy art project, a play in a day or Camino the musical!

Other idea is for John Lamb to lead a walk to Durham Cathedral and they will receive certificates on arrival.

All work to be videoed and sent to Spain to be displayed and archived.
